Summer Tops- Adult Sewing Class - May 20th- June 17th

$275.00

Class times:

Wednesday’s • 6:00–8:00 PM
May 13 – June 10

This class is designed for adults who would like to build confidence sewing wearable garments while learning foundational clothing skills. During this session, you’ll choose from a small selection of summer top patterns — all designed to be comfortable, versatile, and perfect for everyday wear.

Summer tops are one of my favorite projects to teach because they are practical, satisfying to sew, and easy to customize. In this class, students will choose from a curated mix of knit and woven patterns that build essential garment skills while creating beautiful, wearable pieces.

You’ll choose from:

Honey Girl Tee — a fitted knit tee that’s simple, comfortable, and a great introduction to sewing with stretch fabrics and clean neckline finishes

Revel Topper — a lightweight, drapey layering piece that focuses on fluid fabrics and clean finishing for an effortless wardrobe staple

Nepheline Blouse — a polished woven blouse with refined details that helps you build more advanced garment sewing skills while creating an elevated handmade piece

Remy Raglan — a relaxed woven raglan top with an easy fit and modern shape, perfect for building confidence with structured garment construction

Each of these patterns uses approachable construction techniques and can be made in a range of fabrics, allowing for both skill-building and personal style.

Supplies:

Fabric:
A mix of knit and lightweight woven fabrics will be used in this class depending on your chosen pattern. Suggested woven fabrics include cotton, linen, chambray, rayon, and double gauze. The honeygirl tee is designed specifically for pointelle fabric, using a different knit fabric will change the fit of the finished garment.

I keep a small curated selection of fabrics available in the studio for students who would like to purchase materials here, but students are also welcome to source their own fabric. I’m always happy to help with fabric selection and guide you toward appropriate choices for your chosen pattern.

Notions:
Thread to match your fabric
Additional notions will depend on your chosen pattern

Notions are available for purchase in the studio.

Please note:

Studio sewing machines are provided
Pattern purchase and printing are included in the cost of the class
Fabric should be washed prior to the first day of class
Students will select their pattern prior to the start of class so materials can be prepared in advance

What you’ll take away:

A finished summer top you’ll love wearing
New skills in garment construction, pattern reading, and seam finishing
Confidence sewing both knit and woven garments
A handmade piece that reflects your personal style
