Sashiko Embroidered Coasters December 5th-19th

$135.00

Class times:

Friday’s December 5th-19th 1 pm-2:30pm

In this mini class series we will explore several different sashiko stitching techniques while making a delightful set of coasters for your coffee table. And if you can bear to part with them these would also make the perfect gift this holiday season. This class does not involve any machine sewing, and no previous sewing experience is needed.

All materials for this class are provided.

Note: Sashiko is a stitching technique that originates from Japan. It has a rich and profoundly deep cultural significance. I am not Japanese, and while I have learned these techniques from a Japanese teacher I have not undergone the years of rigorous study that is foundational in becoming a student and master of these techniques. I strive to honor the traditions and the people upheld by the sashiko sticking techniques and at the same time, I understanding my limitations.
