Nepheline Blouse January 9th-January 30th
Class times:
Friday’s 11-1
January 9th-30th
The Nepheline Blouse by Vivian Shao Chen The Nepheline Blouse is a loose-fitting blouse with an A-line silhouette. It is designed to be a voluminous, billowy, oversized blouse. There is ample ease throughout the bust and waist. The sleeves are three-quarter length and feature tucks that create texture and shape. The blouse length allows it to be worn untucked or tucked into high-waisted bottoms.
There are two views included in this pattern:
View A has a high neckline.
View B has a lower scooped neckline, trimmed with a ruffle.
Supplies:
Fabric: The Nepheline Blouse pattern is designed for woven fabrics. It works best for lightweight fabrics. Choose a lightweight fabric (2 to 4 oz/yd²) such as cotton lawn, batiste, voile, silk crepe de chine, silk georgette. Midweight fabrics (5 to 6 oz/yd²) will also work and create a sturdier blouse. Choose a cotton poplin or plain-woven linen. Keep in mind the ruffles will be less finely defined if using a midweight fabric.
I have several wonderful fabric options available in the studio.
Notions:
Interfacing: 1/4 yard all sizes for button plackets. Choose a weight that is slightly lighter than your fabric.
Buttons: 7 buttons (View A) or 6 buttons (View B) 3/8” (10mm) to 1/2” (12mm) diameter
Please note, you may need more buttons if you change the spacing or lengthen the blouse. All purpose polyester thread that matches your fabric
All notions are available for purchase in the studio
Please note:
Studio sewing machines are provided.
Purchase of the pattern is included in the cost of the class.
Pattern printing is included in the cost of the class.
Fabric should be washed prior to the first day of class.
We will not be making a muslin fit test version of these pants, but you might want to consider making one.
