In the 1940’s, Norwegians made and wore red pointed hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against Nazi occupation of their country.

Within two years, the Nazis made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law to wear, make, or distribute.

As purveyors of traditional craft, we felt it appropriate to revisit this design.

Approximately 200 yards of RED yarn of your choice in fingering, DK, or Worsted weight.
The sample shown was knit in Blue Sky Fibers Skyland for the DK version

Suggested Needles
Fingering weight yarn: US #4 / 3.5mm
DK weight yarn: US #6 / 4mm
Worsted weight yarn: US #8 / 5mm

Please reach out if you need help sourcing yarn or supplies. No knitting experience needed. No one will be turned away for lack of supplies.
