September 16 – October 21
This class is for students who have been sewing with me for a while and are ready to take on more challenging projects and have more ownership over what they make.
We will work together to choose projects that are exciting to the students while continuing to build their sewing skills. Students will have increasing opportunities to make decisions about patterns, fabrics, design, and construction as they develop greater independence and confidence.
The curriculum will evolve throughout the year, with projects and skills building on one another as the students progress.
Tuition is based per 6-week session and includes materials for class projects.
This is an ongoing class, but there is no required year-long commitment. Students may continue from one 6-week session to the next, or choose not to continue at the end of a session.
Because projects may span multiple sessions, students are encouraged to continue until they have completed their current project.
Greater confidence and independence in the sewing studio
Experience making their own creative and project decisions
More advanced sewing, garment-making, and accessory skills
The ability to approach projects with increasing independence, from choosing an idea through to a finished piece
Studio sewing machines are provided.
Materials for class projects are included in the tuition.
Students should have prior sewing experience and be comfortable using a sewing machine independently.
