Fall Wardrobe: Pants — Adult Sewing Class - September 30th- October 2th
Class times:
Wednesday’s • 6:00–8:00 PM
September 30 – October 28
This class is designed for adults who would like to build confidence sewing wearable garments while creating a pair of pants that will become a favorite part of their fall wardrobe.
Pants are one of my favorite garments to teach because they offer so many opportunities to explore fit, construction, and finishing while creating something you’ll reach for again and again. In this class, you’ll choose from a curated selection of pants patterns, each with a different silhouette and style.
You’ll choose from:
Arthur Pants by Sew Liberated — a relaxed, easy-to-wear pant with a comfortable fit and thoughtful details. A great choice for building confidence with pants construction while creating a versatile everyday garment.
Chanterelle Pants by Sew Liberated — a modern, relaxed pant with a distinctive shape and comfortable fit. This pattern offers an opportunity to explore a slightly more structured silhouette while still creating an easy-to-wear wardrobe staple.
Pietra Pants by Closet Core Patterns — a polished, wide-leg pant with a flattering high waist and elegant silhouette. With options for different waist and leg finishes, this pattern offers plenty of room for personal style.
Falconer Pants by Helen’s Closet — a relaxed pant with a subtle barrel-leg shape and a modern, easy-to-wear silhouette. A great choice for students who want to experiment with a contemporary shape while creating a practical everyday garment.
Each of these patterns offers a different approach to fit and construction, allowing you to choose a silhouette that works for your wardrobe and personal style.
Supplies:
Fabric:
Fabric requirements will vary depending on your chosen pattern and size. Suggested fabrics include linen, cotton twill, canvas, denim, corduroy, wool blends, and other medium-weight woven fabrics with good structure and drape.
I keep a small curated selection of fabrics available in the studio for students who would like to purchase materials here, but students are also welcome to source their own fabric. I’m always happy to help with fabric selection and guide you toward an appropriate fabric for your chosen pattern.
Notions:
Thread to match your fabric
Additional notions will depend on your chosen pattern
Notions are available for purchase in the studio.
Please note:
Studio sewing machines are provided
Pattern purchase and printing are included in the cost of the class
Fabric should be washed prior to the first day of class
Students will select their pattern prior to the start of class so materials can be prepared in advance
What you’ll take away:
A finished pair of pants you’ll love wearing
New skills in pants construction, pattern reading, and garment finishing
A better understanding of garment fit and how to make adjustments
Confidence sewing a variety of woven fabrics
A handmade addition to your fall wardrobe
